On a sunny March afternoon me and Mo headed to the north coast and the Sorting Office, a small but perfectly formed cafe in what used to be St Agnes Post Office.
For me, it was a trip down memory lane, back to the days when we lived in a cottage just next door. Memories too of the day my tiny boy climbed the garden gate and headed off alone for his daily visit to ‘StevieJam’ in the Post Office. This time there was no dark little head by the counter but there was a fabulous selection of cakes and pastries and a friendly welcome from the cafe owner, Sophie. We chose a Cornish Curl (delicious) and Chocolate Pistachio Brownie (delicious) and settled down to the burning issues of the day. Several cups of tea later, the hottest topic – The Night Manager and ‘that’ scene and ‘that’ bum – was undecided. Perhaps we’ll have to return for more tea, more cake and a resolution.
